The Canberra Innovation Network connects businesses, universities and research institutions. They do this to drive innovation, growth and jobs in the industries of the future.
The Canberra Innovation Network is a key ACT Government innovation initiative, established in 2014. It’s supported by six of Canberra’s leading higher education and research institutions.
Each year, the Canberra Innovation Network hosts more than 7,500 participants over more 200 events for business and innovators. They deliver and facilitate a range of programs and services aimed at supporting start-ups and SMEs with high growth potential.

Whether it’s a small business breakfast, Female Founders or First Wednesday Connect, there is an event to inspire you.
On the first Wednesday of every month between 5.00pm to 6.30pm, The Canberra Innovation Network runs the First Wednesday Connect networking event, bringing about 200 innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, mentors, investors, researchers, students and creatives together in a highly interactive format.
It’s a great way to meet new people and make business connections over drinks and nibbles. You’ll also hear from Canberra’s budding entrepreneurs during the high intensity 60-second pitching format.
The Canberra Innovation Network runs Female Founders, a bi-monthly event that engages female founders, business leaders and innovators here in the ACT. These informal sessions are designed to share, connect and engage with new people in the ecosystem.
