He’s skated with Tony Hawk, is the youngest competitor to drop into the Bondi Bowl-a-rama and travels around Australia and the US competing in skate comps.
Google the name Ethan Copeland and you’ll discover some amazing footage of this wonder kid in action. Fitting in sessions after school and around weekend competitions, Ethan says that Canberra has definitely helped him achieve his skating dreams.
“It’s been great because there’s a very good local scene here in Canberra that’s really diverse. I skate with lots of different people and they all really help me with things.
And there’s a great variety of skateparks that offer street and park skating, so you get to skate on a bit of everything.”
And when asked about his plans for the future? “I just want to keep taking my skating to the next level so that one day I can skate professionally and possibly go to the Olympics. I’m pretty young to compete in the next Games…but you never know.”Play Video
