Get ready for an amped up music scene in Canberra. With an ACT Government injection of $108,000 into a program that will strengthen Canberra’s live music sector, we’re going to be benefitting from an even more vibrant event schedule.

The scheme will be led by peak music association MusicACT through capacity building programs in artist management, recording, touring, and promoting, as well as kick-starting more all-ages gigs in the region.

Because of MusicACT’s great relationships with the National Live Music Office, The Australasian Performing Right Association, national live music promoters, managers and record labels, as well as their previous involvement in building the territory’s live music sector, they are well placed to get things off the ground.

“We are so excited to be taking the lead on this project,” said MusicACT President Dave Caffery. “MusicACT aims to create support systems to guide the careers of all musicians, no matter their age or experience and we can’t wait to get started.”
